Dismissal of Employee for Collaboration: Rada to Consider Draft Law in Second Reading

The Verkhovna Rada plans to consider a bill that would allow employers to fire employees for collaboration, including at critical infrastructure enterprises, in case of conviction for crimes against Ukraine's national security or violation of rules of conduct.

The Verkhovna Rada plans to consider in the second reading a draft law on the settlement of the issue of dismissal of an employee by an employer for collaborationism at one of its next meetings. This was reported by UNN with reference to the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada meeting.

For example, draft law No. 7731 proposes to give the employer the right to terminate an employment contract in cases of collaboration, in particular at critical infrastructure enterprises, in particular in the case o

-       The entry into force of a court verdict convicting the employee (except for release from serving a sentence on probation) for committing a crime against the national security of Ukraine;

-       Failure of an employee to comply with the rules of conduct at an enterprise, institution, organization in terms of the provisions provided for in part two of Article 142 of this Code.

Also, according to the comparative table, the establishment of rules of conduct at enterprises, institutions, organizations of strategic importance for the economy and security of the state, and/or critical infrastructure facilities or operators is mandatory.

Addendum

On February 15, 2024, the Committee on Social Policy recommended that the Verkhovna Rada regulate the issue of employer dismissal of an employee for collaboration.
