In Lviv region, a medical worker was detained for issuing fake disability certificates to military personnel for a reward of $7,000,000, involving doctors from various medical institutions.

A medical worker in Lviv region was establishing fictitious disabilities for conscripts for money. She involved doctors from various health care institutions in the illegal activity. This is reported by UNN with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation in Lviv.

SBI officers detained the head of a hospital department of a branch of the State Institution "Health Care Center" of the State Criminal Executive Service for bribery. The official helped healthy men of military age to obtain medical documents on the basis of which the MSEC was supposed to declare them unfit for service,

It is noted that she involved doctors from various health care institutions in Lviv in illegal activities. They issued false conclusions about the health status of "patients", on the basis of which men received disabilities.

The cost of "services" for one person was 7 thousand US dollars. According to available data, the scheme has been operating since last fall, and a large number of persons liable for military service were able to obtain a "fake" disability. The "clients" were not only from Lviv region, but also from all over Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers detained the head of the hospital on April 17 while receiving the second part of the bribe - USD 5,500 from a resident of one of the central regions who wanted to receive a "disability". The transfer of funds took place in one of Lviv's shopping and entertainment centers.

Searches were also conducted at the residences and workplaces of the defendants. Medical records and almost USD 35 thousand were seized.

The official was served a notice of suspicion of extortion and receipt of an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions (Part 3 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 8 years with confiscation of property.

A motion was filed with the court to impose on the suspect a custodial detention and removal from office. Investigative actions are ongoing, the full range of persons involved in the illegal scheme is being identified. Suspicions are being prepared for other members of the group.
