A Flixbus bus overturned near Leipzig, Germany, killing 4 passengers and injuring 35, and the driver is under investigation for manslaughter and negligent homicide.

A serious accident involving Flixbus (a German company that operates a large fleet of intercity buses) near Leipzig has left at least four people dead and several injured. German prosecutors are investigating the circumstances of the accident and the driver's involvement. It is a case of unintentional homicide and negligent bodily harm, UNN reports, citing DPA.

Details

According to official information, on Wednesday morning, March 27, a double-decker Flixbus with 54 people on board, including two drivers, drove off the A9 highway near Leipzig and rolled over on its side.

Four passengers were killed. Thirty-five people were injured: 6 seriously injured and 29 people with minor injuries.

Prosecutors said on Thursday that the driver of a bus that crashed on a highway in Germany on Wednesday, killing four people and injuring many others, is being investigated for manslaughter and negligent homicide.

The German press reported an argument between two bus drivers, a 62-year-old Czech and a 53-year-old Slovak. According to a witness, the two drivers were "arguing loudly" shortly before the accident, which may support the hypothesis that the Czech driver lost control of the bus because of this argument.
