Russian troops are stepping up reconnaissance using drones in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions to identify targets for future attacks.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine detect the activity of Russian unmanned reconnaissance aircraft in the direction of Mykolaiv and Odesa regions: the enemy is trying to look for targets for future attacks and hopes to saturate the strips along the contact line as much as possible. This was reported in a telethon by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces Natalia Humeniuk, UNN reports .

Unmanned aerial reconnaissance has intensified somewhat, as they cannot expose the situation while at sea. We see the activity of unmanned reconnaissance drones in the direction of Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, we regularly record the presence of such drones over the sea, and continue to conduct combat operations against them

- noted Humeniuk.

When asked about the dynamics of the enemy's use of reconnaissance drones and the number of UAVs used for reconnaissance, Humeniuk answered the following:

They are trying to saturate as much as possible, which applies to thestrip along the contact line, and deeper into the rearwhere they understand the possibility of deploying our reserves. In addition, they are trying to look for targets for future ballistic missile attacks

 she said.

In this sense, Humeniuk reminded of the attack on Mykolaiv, noting that Russia is obviously still planning strikes on energy facilities. According to Humeniuk, due to the deteriorating weather conditions, the Russian Armed Forces have reduced the activity of UAVs in the operational area of the Southern Military District.

Earlier, we used to record about 150 reconnaissance drones per day in our operational area, but now, due to the deteriorating weather conditions, they have reduced their activity, but it is not lower than 80-90 reconnaissance drones per day

 ," explained Natalia Humeniuk.

She also emphasized that there is no activity of the Russian naval group in the Black and Azov Seas.

The security of the base is actually ensured from the inside, they try to expose the surface situation by radar without going on combat duty

- said a spokeswoman for the Southern Defense Forces.
