A serviceman who caused a fatal car accident while drunk will be tried in Poltava region based on SBI materials. His wife died as a result of the accident. This was reported by UNN with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation.

Reportedly, the indictment in the case of the serviceman has been sent to court.
On the evening of February 16, 2024, the soldier got behind the wheel of a car while drunk. Together with his wife, they drove through the streets of Poltava. At one of the intersections, he lost control, drove off the road and crashed into an electric pole.
As a result of the accident, the woman was hospitalized with severe injuries. Two weeks later, she died without coming out of her coma
According to the investigation, the driver's blood alcohol content was 1.2 ppm.
The man is accused of violating the rules of road safety by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, which caused the death of the victim (Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He faces imprisonment for up to 10 years.
