Shoigu: russia has "no interest" in attacking NATO countries

russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has denied that russia has any plans to attack NATO countries, saying that russia has no geopolitical or military interests in attacking the Alliance.

russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that russia allegedly has no plans to attack the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance and has never had any plans to do so. He said this during a meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Astana, UNN reports with reference to the russian media. 

The russian federation has never threatened NATO. We have neither geopolitical nor military interests in attacking the states of the bloc

- Shoigu assured.

Addendum

The Inspector General of the German Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Carsten Breuer, stated that russia could be militarily ready to attack NATO countries in five to eight years if it decides to do so as soon as it recovers its forces that have been damaged by the war in Ukraine. 

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that if Ukraine fails, russia will go further and will certainly attack NATO countries.
