Sunny weather and active solar power plants have helped boost Ukraine's electricity production, but the grid remains in short supply due to Russian missile attacks, requiring emergency assistance from Europe for much of the day and calling for conservation.

Warming temperatures are helping to reduce electricity consumption in Ukraine. But the power system remains in deficit. Ukraine continues to receive emergency aid from Europe for most of the day. There are restrictions in Kharkiv and Kryvyi Rih regions. This was reported on Thursday by NPC Ukrenergo, calling for economical consumption, UNN writes.

Consumption

Today at 09:30, consumption is 10% lower than yesterday at the same time.

At the same time, the power grid remains in short supply for most of the day. Due to the damage caused by Russian missile strikes, power plants cannot generate enough electricity to cover all consumer needs.

Yesterday, April 23, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning hours. It was 6.4% higher than on April 22. In the evening, from 17:00 to 22:00, the level of consumption decreased due to power restrictions for business and industry.

Restrictions

Consumption restrictions are in effect throughout the day in Kharkiv region. In the morning, about 205,000 household consumers were cut off. Industrial consumption in Kryvyi Rih is also restricted around the clock.

Emergency assistance

Today, on April 25, Ukrenergo's dispatch center has been forced to attract emergency assistance from the power systems of European countries for the fourth day in a row. However, today its total volume is somewhat lower than yesterday due to increased production at solar power plants.

All consumers are asked to conserve electricity. And the industry - to maximize electricity imports and use alternative power sources, if available.

Production

One unit at a thermal power plant was put back into operation after emergency repairs.

The sunny weather is conducive to the active operation of renewable energy power plants.

Import and export

Imports: during almost the entire day, except for night hours, from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova. The total volume is 12,786 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,675 MW in some hours.

Export: not planned

De-energization

Due to bad weather, 2,800 consumers in the Kyiv region were cut off from electricity in the morning.

For other reasons, 399 settlements were without power in the morning.

Due to hostilities: there are power outages in Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv regions.

Due to technical reasons: there are power outages in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
