The conference of the European Schuman Forum in Amman discussed the global nature of the Russian threat, the consequences of Russian aggression for the Middle East, and the growing understanding in the Global South of the destabilizing role of the current Russian regime, with participants expressing their readiness to learn from Ukraine's effective struggle in the ongoing war.

A conference of the European Schumann Forum was held in Amman with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Jordan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine told what was discussed during the event, UNN reports.

On April 25, the conference of the European Schuman Forum on Security and Defense "The EU and the Southern Partnership Countries: Strategic Dialogue on Defense, Maritime Security and Transnational Organized Crime" was held in Amman.

Details

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, during the panel discussion "New Agenda for EU Security and Defense Policy: Lessons and Impact of the War in Ukraine", the conference participants agreed on the global nature of the Russian threat, as well as the possible consequences of Russian aggression for the Middle East. 

The participants also noted that in the countries of the Global South, the understanding of the global destabilizing role of the current Russian regime is deepening. They also noted that they are ready to learn the lessons of Ukraine's effective struggle in the context of total  war, and this interest is only growing.

The Ukrainian diplomatic mission informed that the conference was organized by the EU delegation to Jordan, the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan, and the Ukrainian Prism think tank.
