The Verkhovna Rada plans to take a step towards creating a register of persons affected by Russian aggression

The Verkhovna Rada plans to consider a draft law on the creation of a State Register of Persons Affected by Russia's Armed Aggression against Ukraine, which will include registration of citizens whose lives and health have been harmed, exchange of information between state systems, and accounting for costs associated with providing assistance to affected citizens.

The Verkhovna Rada plans to consider in the first reading draft law No. 10256, which proposes to create a State Register of Persons Affected by the Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, at one of its next meetings. UNN reports this with reference to the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada meeting.

According to the explanatory note, the draft law was developed to ensure the creation of the State Register of Persons Affected by the Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which will be used t

- registration of citizens whose lives and health were damaged as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine;

- information exchanges between state information systems, in terms of exchanging information on recording damage to the life and health of citizens caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine;

- accounting of expenditures of the state and local budgets, budgets of social funds related to the provision of assistance and support to citizens affected by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Addendum

In December 2023, the Social Policy Committee recommended to include in the agenda and adopt as a basis a draft law (No. 10256) that proposes to create a State Register of Persons Affected by the Armed Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
