Ukraine is receiving emergency aid from neighboring countries to supplement its own generation and imports of electricity, with restrictions currently in place in Kharkiv region and Kryvyi Rih due to a lack of power in the grid.

Ukraine is currently receiving emergency aid from neighboring countries to cover its electricity needs, in addition to its own generation and imports. In the evening hours the day before, electricity supply to industry was limited, today there are restrictions in Kharkiv region and Kryvyi Rih. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Wednesday, UNN reports.

Details

"Due to network constraints on the transmission system operator's lines, yesterday blackout schedules were applied in Kharkiv region and for industry in Kryvyi Rih. Restrictions in these regions are still in effect today. During the evening peak hours, power limitation schedules were applied for industrial consumers in all regions except Kherson region," the ministry said.

Over the past day, as indicated, consumers' needs were covered by own generation, commercial imports and emergency assistance from Poland, Slovakia and Romania. The total volume of emergency supplies reached about 2.5% of daily electricity consumption.

"Also, at the request of the Ukrainian transmission system operator, emergency electricity supplies from these countries are carried out even during the current day," the Ministry of Energy noted.

Consequences of shelling

"Overhead lines and substations in Odesa were disconnected as a result of the shelling, and consumers are without power. Restoration work is underway," the ministry said.
