The distinguished guests visited the VVER-1000 reactor control room and the turbine hall.

According to Patrick Fragman, the fifth power unit at KhNPP, which will be built in a few years using AP1000 technology, will have significant advantages over the Soviet-style reactor: the American reactor is more automated, more maneuverable and more powerful.

Ms. Brigitte Brink left a comment in the logbook in memory of her visit to the unit, thanking the indomitable nuclear workers for their extremely important work.

The visit took place as part of the ceremony of laying the first cube of concrete at KhNPP Unit 5. Energoatom CEO Petro Kotin and Khmelnytsky NPP Director General Andriy Kozyura personally conducted a tour of Unit 1 for the US Ambassador to Ukraine and the head of Westinghouse.
