Jacques Faure: EU overcame its part,the turn - for Ukraine

On the eve of another round of talks UNN met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Ukraine, Jacques Faure, using his participation in a roundtable Fund to develop youth rugby, where among other issues talked about organizing the next International Rugby Tournament Cup, Ambassador of France in Ukraine.

- You know that we are partners with Ukraine, our President in 2007 and 2008 initiated a new step in negotiations between EU and Ukraine, which led to agreement on associate membership and agreement on free exchange. Bilateral Franco-Ukrainian relations are also developing very rapidly - it is not only an exchange of political visits, but also between various administrative agencies of Ukraine and France.

- Which ones?

- As with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and - agriculture, economy, defense - all included in the program of cooperation with Ukraine. But what would like to see improvement - a political climate in Ukraine. He is still very unstable. We must progress in this direction.

- So?

- Foreign investors must obtain a legal status that guarantees the safety of investments in Ukraine. In addition, we hope that Ukraine, which among other countries of the former Soviet Union ahead in matters of public freedoms, freedom of press and expression, save that progress. - Tell me frankly, France and Ukraine will rejoice in the European Union?

- As a partner with your country, we support the path that goes to Ukraine to the European Union. But as it usually occurs between partners who are honest with each other when someone sees that something is not - it must be said, andwe are talking.

- Finally a few words about the cultural and sports activities that will realize the Embassy under your direct supervision?

- In April - another French spring. We organize several annual film festivals - in Kiev and other cities of Ukraine. As for sports, every year I organized a youth rugby tournament. Incidentally, the French cooperation with Ukraine on rugby issues started a few years ago when I signed with the former Minister of Youth and Sports Pavlenko protocol opens the possibility of cooperation in many sports, including rugby. And some Ukrainian athletes have played under the auspices of the French rugby federation. I hope that soon, maybe in the autumn, the first team of Ukrainian youth rugby players will be able to internship in France, are also appropriate measures for the French players and Ukraine.
