Lytvyn suggested Boris Gryzlov to retreat meeting of Inter-Parliamentary CommitteeSpeaker of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn today in St. Petersburg, met with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov. This UNN was reported in the press office BP. The meeting stressed that because of the effective and constructive dialogue at the highest level and system-based work structure of the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental commission, the relationship between our countries put on a new level. According to Volodymyr Lytvyn, the current state of Ukrainian-Russian bilateral relations can constructively resolve current issues of cooperation and opens broad prospects for their further development. The parties agreed on the need to intensify inter-parliamentary dialogue and called for the development of Ukrainian-Russian regional cooperation, aimed at updating and elaboration of new economic relations in a mutually beneficial basis. In this context, the Speaker suggested that a retreat meeting of the Interparliamentary Committee in one of the border regions with participation of regional members on both sides. Moreover, in his opinion, useful in this context can be attended by representatives of legislative bodies of Ukraine and Russia in interregional forums, including the Second Ukrainian-Russian inter-regional economic forum to be held this year under the patronage of the Presidents of Ukraine and Russian Federation in the Donetsk region.
