Ukraine supports the preservation of equal opportunity for all CIS countries - Lytvyn

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn during his meeting with Chairman of Federation Council Sergey Mironov, held today in St. Petersburg, said that our country is interested in cooperation with CIS member states both at bilateral and multilateral format reported UNN , the press service of Verkhovna Rada. 

Thus, according to Volodymyr Lytvyn, Ukraine stands for the preservation of equal opportunities and rights of each CIS member states in making key decisions in the Commonwealth.

As the Speaker, the basis of relations between Ukraine and CIS countries is the trade-economic cooperation, adding that up to 2010, the CIS countries accounted for 40,2% of foreign trade turnover of Ukraine.

Another important area of ​​cooperation within the CIS, in its opinion, is cooperation in innovation sphere.

The meeting also focused on the successful interaction between BSEC member countries.

As previously reported, on May 15-16, Volodymyr Lytvyn is on a working visit to St. Petersburg to participate in the CIS IPA, International scientific conference on the 65 anniversary of the Nuremberg process, Nevsky Fourth International Ecological Congress and events dedicated to 150 - anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's reburial.
