Ukraine convened an extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council to inform the allies about Russia's missile attacks on critical infrastructure and to ask NATO members to provide additional air defense systems.

An extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the ambassadorial level was held today in Brussels. Ukraine has called on Western allies to provide additional air defense equipment amid Russian attacks on critical infrastructure, the Ukrainian mission to the Alliance said, UNN reported.

"Today, at the initiative of Ukraine, an extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council was convened in response to Russia's missile attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure," the mission told X.

As indicated, the meeting was held at NATO headquarters at the ambassadorial level.

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov briefed the allies on the consequences of Russia's attacks and Ukraine's response. He called on NATO member states to provide additional air defense systems and missiles to protect Ukrainian cities and citizens
