The discussions touched on the continuation of freight liberalization, border crossing points, railroad connections, regional development, decentralization and the implementation of international agreements between communities, the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure reported on Thursday, UNN writes.

"Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Polish consultations have begun in Warsaw," the ministry said in a statement on social media.

The team of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksandr Kubrakov, has already held its first meetings.

During the consultations with Polish Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak and Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalencz, the parties discussed, as stated, topical issues of cooperation:

◾️Extension of the agreement on liberalization of freight transportation between Ukraine and the EU;

◾️Development of checkpoints and signing a joint control agreement;

◾️Development of railway communication, in particular through the mechanisms of the EU's Connecting Europe Facility program;

◾️Implementation in Ukraine of the NUTS system and the formation of effective municipal statistics for regional development;

◾️Implementation of 694 existing international agreements between communities and regions;

◾️Exchange of the experience in the use of structural funds in the field of decentralization and regional policy.

A joint meeting of the governments of Ukraine and Poland is scheduled for March 28 in Warsaw. A Ukrainian government delegation headed by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has already arrived in Warsaw. The prime minister outlined the topics of the talks, including the situation on the border, saying he expects "effective solutions.
