According to the Ministry of Culture, fewer than 2,000 people received reservations for mobilization to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. All of them are critically important for their companies. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine regarding the reservation of employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations in the field of culture and media, UNN reports.

The Ministry of Culture explained that the procedure for reserving persons liable for military service during martial law was approved by a resolution last winter.
At the same time, the Procedure and Criteria for Classifying Enterprises, Institutions, and Organizations as Critical for the Functioning of the Economy and Ensuring the Life of the Population in a Special Period were determined.
The ICIP books employees of all institutions that form the cultural and media system. This includes artists from theaters, philharmonic societies and circuses. This is a very small number of people. However, keeping these people in their positions allows us to keep the sector from decline. As of today, according to the ICIP, only 1,150 cultural workers and a little more than 700 media workers have received the status of reserved across the country
The ministry admitted that it is not quite right to call cultural institutions critical to the functioning of the economy . They say it would be more appropriate to say "critical to our lives, spiritual stability and resistance.

The ICIP emphasized that the hate around the topic of booking cultural and media workers is a disrespect for people who do their job honestly and efficiently, a primitive assessment of their social significance.

It is noted that the Commission of the ICIP decided to define enterprises, organizations, and institutions as critical for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the vital activity of the population during a special period in the information sphere.
In particular, a number of Ukrainian and foreign media outlets recognized them as such: "NBM" TV and Radio Company (Channel 5), the representative office of the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle/Deutsche Welle (DW) in Ukraine, and the representative office of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
People are critically important to culture. Culture and media are critically important to the state. Responsible authorities should not only talk about it, but also ensure our resilience both at the front and in the rear with their balanced and professional decisions
Context
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has granted the status of important enterprises for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihoods of the population during a special period to some state circuses. In particular, this status was granted to: "Mobile circus of Ukraine", "Directorate of mobile circus troupes of Ukraine", "Zaporizhzhia state circus", etc.
The Ministry of Culture also confirmed the status of important enterprises for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihoods of the population during the special period to the TV channels of the "United News" telethon.
Recall
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has instructed the relevant ministries to introduce an updated resolution on reservations for persons liable for military service and to define an exhaustive list of critical infrastructure facilities and enterprises.
