Eurostat: inflation in the Eurozone fell to 2.4% in March

Eurostat reported that inflation in the Eurozone fell to 2.4% in March, with the lowest rates in Lithuania and Finland and the highest in Croatia and Estonia.

The lowest inflation rate was recorded in Lithuania and Finland, and the highest price growth rates were recorded in Croatia and Estonia. This is reported by the EU statistical agency Eurostat, Deutsche Welle reports, UNN.

The slowdown in inflation in the European Union is particularly evident in the food sector. According to Eurostat, prices for food, alcohol, and tobacco grew by 2.7%.

A month earlier, the figure was 3.9%, and in January it was 5.6%. The growth in prices for services remained at the same level as in the previous months - 4.0%.

According to statisticians, the lowest inflation rates were recorded in Lithuania and Finland - 0.3 and 0.7%, respectively. The highest price growth rates are in Croatia (4.7%) and Estonia (4.1%).

In Germany, the inflation rate continued to decline in March, amounting to 2.2% in annual terms. The Munich-based ifo Institute also predicts that in the summer of 2024, the rate of price growth in Germany will fall below the 2% mark.
