A 25-year-old police lieutenant was killed in a Russian missile attack on Chernihiv, Ukraine, and sustained fatal shrapnel wounds while at home on medical leave.
Police lieutenant Alina Mykolayets died due to shrapnel wounds as a result of a missile attack by Russian troops on Chernihiv. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, UNN reports.

"Police lieutenant Alina Mykolayets is among those killed in the rocket attack on Chernihiv," the Interior Ministry said.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, she received a fatal shrapnel wound while at home on a sick leave.
"Alina Mykolayets was 25... She had been serving in the police since June 2023 as an inspector of the patrol police response department of the Chernihiv district police department," - the Ministry of Internal Affairs wrote.
