Bulgaria's newly appointed acting Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov wants to speed up the provision of military assistance to Ukraine. He stated this during his inauguration, Novinite reports, UNN writes.

Zapryanov emphasized the urgency of speeding up the provision of two military aid packages to Ukraine.
It is noted that while serving as Deputy Minister of Defense of Bulgaria Todor Tagarev (his predecessor - ed.) , Zapryanov emphasized the interim government's commitment to strengthening defense capabilities and ensuring the integrity of the upcoming elections.
We will try to speed up the provision of assistance to Ukraine. Further opportunities for direct military assistance will be considered

Zapryanov said that the interim government cannot afford a long period of inactivity and must prioritize increasing the pace of activity.
According to him, it is important to complete the strategic defense review and start addressing the problems in the armed forces and strengthening defense capabilities. He also reaffirmed Bulgaria's commitment to Euro-Atlantic membership.
