North Korea successfully tested a new 240-mm multiple launch rocket system, which was attended by leader Kim Jong-un, who praised its strategic importance for strengthening the country's artillery capabilities.
On April 25, North Korea conducted test firings of 240 mm multiple launch rocket systems produced at a new defense industry facility. According to the Korean Central News Agency, the firing was attended by DPRK leader Kim Jong-un, UNN reports .

The report does not provide further details about the unit that manufactured the artillery. It is believed that North Korea is ramping up its artillery production amid accusations by the United States and South Korea that it is supplying weapons to Russia.
Both countries deny the allegations. Tests have shown that the missiles meet the required standards for flight performance and accuracy.
According to state television, Kim Jong Un said that the 240mm multiple launch rocket system, which incorporates the new technology, "will bring strategic changes to strengthen our army's artillery capabilities.
