The National Military Memorial Complex, which includes a military cemetery and museum, will be built in 8 stages over 129 months (almost 11 years) in Kyiv region on an area of over 265 hectares.
The construction of the National Military Memorial Cemetery complex, which includes not only a military cemetery but also a museum complex, will be carried out in eight stages and should be completed in 129 months, i.e. almost 11 years later. This is stated in the response of the State Enterprise "NMMC" to the request of UNN.
Details
The cemetery will be built on two plots located within the Gatne territorial community in Kyiv region, near the village of Markhalivka and the Southern Cemetery (Vita Poshtova). The total area is more than 265 hectares, of which more than 120 hectares will be occupied by burial fields and other necessary facilities for honorary burials
The construction of the complex is divided into 8 main phases, some of which are also divided into stages.
During the first year of construction, the first stage of construction is planned to build: an entrance sign stele, a columbarium wall, burial sectors, a public transport stop, a bus stop, a hangar, 2 artesian wells, 2 pumping stations, a water storage tank, a boiler house, 2 transformer substations, a public toilet, local treatment facilities, a gas control point, an access road, utilities, driveways, areas for solid waste storage containers, and fencing.
Up to of the second stage of the first stage: administrative building, chapel, house of mourning, utility building, guardhouse, ritual attributes shop, central square, central monument, columbarium wall, burial sectors, open parking lot, 2 artesian wells and 2 pumping stations, local treatment facilities, utility networks, roadways, areas for solid waste containers, fencing. This stage is expected to take 18 months to complete.
The second stage of construction, which will last 17 months in total, will include the construction of a crematorium. The second phase of construction also includes 3 columbarium walls, burial sectors, a gas control station, local treatment facilities, an open parking lot, utility networks, passageways, areas for containers for storing solid waste, and fencing.
As for the crematorium, the construction phase, according to the project, should be completed 10 months after the completion of the first stage of the memorial cemetery.
Phase of the third stage will include: an entrance sign stele, a hotel and restaurant complex, a public toilet, an access road, a transformer substation, 2 open parking lots, a water storage tank, a local sewage treatment plant, 2 columbine walls, burial sectors, utility networks, driveways, areas for solid waste storage containers, and a fence; It is planned to be built in 1 year and 3 months (15 months).
Phase of the fourth stage will include a memorial building, 2 columbarium walls, burial sectors, utility networks, passageways, areas for solid waste containers, and a fence. It is planned to be built in 7 months.
Phase of the fifth stage will include: a house of mourning, 3 columbarium walls, burial sectors, local sewage treatment plants, utility networks, roadways, areas for solid waste storage containers, and a fence. It is planned to be built in 7 months.
Phase of the sixth stage will include: 3 columbarium walls, burial sectors, a public toilet, utilities, driveways, areas for solid waste containers, and fencing. It is planned to be built in 11 months.
Phase of the seventh stage will include: a square with a flagpole stele, 2 columbarium walls, burial sectors, a public toilet, a transformer substation, local sewage treatment plants, utility networks, roadways, areas for solid waste storage containers, and a fence. It is planned to be built in 1 year (12 months).
The eighth stage includes a museum and exhibition complex, a gas control station, local sewage treatment facilities, utility networks, and roadways. It is planned to be built in 2.5 years (30 months).
