Turkey announces restrictions on exports of steel, iron, aluminum, and other products to Israel until a ceasefire is reached in Gaza.

On Tuesday, Turkey announced that it would restrict exports to Israel of a number of goods, including steel, iron and aluminum composite products, until the ceasefire in Gaza is lifted. This was reported by UNN with reference to Anadolu and Reuters.

Details

On Tuesday, March 9, Turkey announced that it would restrict exports to Israel until there is a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. These are export restrictions on 54 products, including aluminum and steel, which will take effect immediately.

The taco restrictions are a response to Israel's refusal to allow Ankara to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, Anadolu Agency reports.

There is no pretext under which Israel could obstruct our airlift of aid to the starving people of Gaza. In this situation, we have decided to take a new series of measures against Israel

 - said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in an interview with the Turkish news agency.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz responded by saying that Turkey had "unilaterally violated" trade agreements by its decision to restrict exports to Israel, and that Israel would take similar measures against products from Turkey.

Recall

Israel withdraws ground troops from the southern part of the Gaza Strip after completing the mission in the Khan Younis area, keeping significant forces in the area for future operations against Hamas.

Also , UNN reported that Israel approved the reopening of the Erez crossing and the use of the Ashdod port to help Gaza.

Iraq plans to repair the Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline to Turkey, which will allow exporting up to 350,000 barrels per day by the end of the month, which may cause tensions with the Kurdish authorities over control of oil revenues.
