A rally was held in Spain to call on the international community to put pressure on Russia to release Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians held captive by the Kremlin.

A rally in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war was held in Spain, and the international community is called upon to find leverage over the Kremlin to bring home the military held in Russian captivity. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

A rally in support of Ukrainian prisoners of war was held in the Spanish capital. The participants of the action called on the international community to find levers of influence on the aggressor country in order to return home the Kremlin's prisoners

- the statement reads.

It is noted that several hundred participants marched through the streets of Madrid with Ukrainian flags and slogans in support of Ukraine, the Armed Forces and the Defenders in Russian captivity, as well as civilian Ukrainians deprived of their personal freedom.

The organizers of the rally emphasized the importance of spreading information about the war in Ukraine in Europe.

This is the duty of every Ukrainian who is currently abroad. Such actions are especially important now, as Ukraine needs more international support, and thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians are in Russian captivity

 - informs the Coordination Center.

Recall

Ukrainian prisoners of war have been tortured for months in Russian captivity. All of this was carried out with blatant disregard for human dignity and caused long-term physical and mental trauma. This is stated in the report of the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Violations in Ukraine.
