A library will be renovated in a de-occupied village in the Kyiv region.

The MHP-Hromada Charitable Foundation, together with its partners, is implementing the project "Restoration of the Library for the Public," UNN reports.

Details

The project will renovate the premises of an old library located in the village of Rudnytske in the Baryshiv community in Kyiv Oblast. The village was occupied the year before last.

The library's collection includes 5,000 books, mostly from the 80s and 90s. The walls need repair, the space needs new furniture.

To ensure that local residents have access to high-quality Ukrainian literature in a comfortable space, MHP-Hromada and its partners are implementing the project "Restoration of the Library for the Public".

"But it is important for us not just to buy books, but to know what people want. That's why our Foundation staff conducts surveys in the village to find out what adults and children want to read. After all, it is important to implement systemic and sustainable projects only in partnership and with the participation of the community - only then will they bring real benefits.

As of today, 150 questionnaires have already been collected, and it is planned to interview the same number of people. Based on the results of the study, the project authors will purchase new books for the library.

So, soon the library premises will be renovated, the interior will be designed and furnished, and a zone for master classes will be created. And the shelves will be filled with literature that adults and children are already looking forward to," MHP Community informs.

The project "Restoration of the library for the population of Baryshivska community, Rudnytske village" is being implemented within the framework of the grant competition "Strengthening public participation in early recovery processes in the liberated territories", administered by Isar Ednannia with the support of the Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Fund, funded by partner countries in cooperation with MHP-Community.
