The commander of the security company of the regional sports center, under whose leadership football players and coaches falsely served, will be tried in Prykarpattia. This was reported on Tuesday by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, UNN reports.
The Ivano-Frankivsk Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region has sent to court an indictment against the commander of a security company of the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support on the fact of negligent attitude to military service (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that seven military personnel, including players and coaches of a local professional football team, served fictitiously in the CCC and JV under the leadership of the accused. In fact, the athletes reportedly did not report for service and did not perform any military duties.
The amount of damage caused to the state during the days of pseudo-service reached UAH 1.5 million. The commander has already returned part of these funds at the stage of pre-trial investigation, the PGO added.
The TCC commander is currently suspended from his post.

UNN reported that in August 2023, law enforcement officers exposed a scheme in Ivano-Frankivsk to falsely enlist relatives of the city's leadership and football players of a local professional club in the TCC security units.
In October, the commander of the security company of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional territorial center for recruitment and social support was served with a suspicion.
In the same month, the court sent him to custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of 214 thousand UAH.
