Kuleba meets with Chairman of NATO Military Committee: calls for increased support for Ukraine with lethal weapons

During a meeting with Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called for increased NATO support for Ukraine with lethal weapons and a return to the practice of conducting exercises in Ukraine.

During a meeting with Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called for  increased assistance to Ukraine  from the Alliance, primarily with lethal weapons and a return to the practice of training in Ukraine.  UNN reports this with reference to the Foreign Ministry's press service. 

Details 

Kuleba  reportedly noted the important role of NATO member states in assisting Ukraine in repelling Russian armed aggression.  He also emphasized the importance of continuing to assist Kyiv, in particular, providing critical weapons and military equipment.

Kuleba and Bauer discussed the prospects of providing combat training for the Ukrainian military  and close cooperation between the defense industries of Ukraine and its allies.

The Foreign Minister called for increased NATO support for Ukraine, especially with lethal weapons, a return to the practice of training in Ukraine, and the deployment of repair bases in Ukraine

The two sides also reportedly shared their expectations from the NATO Washington Summit.

Speaking at the Kyiv Security Forum , Admiral Robert Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, saidthat Russia's war was never about a real security threat from Ukraine or NATO.  Russia attacked Ukraine because President Vladimir Putin is afraid of democracy. However, the Russian army has not achieved any of its strategic goals.
