We have just signed a declaration on ways and means to counter, mitigate and compensate for the negative effects of unilateral coercive measures. Undoubtedly, this is an important step in increasing the coordination of efforts by members of the international community to overcome illegal sanctions, which the United States and its allies have made a substitute for diplomacy

- said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Lavrov's meeting with the head of Iranian diplomacy took place on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the five Caspian littoral countries - Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

Addendum

The signing of the declaration took place on the eve of the visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who will arrive in Moscow on December 7 for talks with Russian President Putin. This will be Raisi's second visit to Moscow since taking office. The last time the Iranian president visited Russia was in January 2022.
