The actions of France and Poland, which are trying to limit Ukrainian imports of agricultural products, may prolong the war. This was stated by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solsky in an interview with the Financial Times, UNN reports.

The additional restrictions, which are the subject of fierce debate within the bloc and are intended to calm angry farmers, will hit Ukraine's revenues and "increase the chances that the war will drag on."
According to him, Ukraine is not to blame for the fact that high harvests in the US and Latin America have led to a drop in grain prices.
The official also emphasized that increasing protectionism and subsidies is not the solution for European farmers, as they need to be more efficient to compete on global markets.

The publication explains that France and Poland are seeking to strengthen the agreement that imposes restrictions on many Ukrainian imports in exchange for the continuation of the duty-free regime adopted after the full-scale invasion.
For example, the Agreement on the Extension of Autonomous Trade Measures signed last week already provided for a reduction in imports of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU by 400 million euros. The Franco-Polish proposal would reduce this amount by another 800 million euros.
