Today, Kyiv said goodbye to 16-year-old schoolboy Maksym Materukhin, who died at the station of the capital's funicular on April 7. Relatives, friends, and acquaintances came to the Berkovetsky cemetery to pay their last respects, UNN reports with reference to Suspilne.

The boy suffered a fatal neck injury from broken glass at the funicular station after being pushed through the window by a 30-year-old employee of the State Protection Department.
In the morning, more than a hundred people came to the Berkovetsky cemetery to pay tribute to the deceased teenager.
Many friends and peers came to see Maksym off on his last journey.

According to the State Bureau of Investigation, on April 7, a conflict occurred at a funicular station in Kyiv between a man who serves as a driver in the State Protection Department and a minor. After leaving the car at the upper station, the law enforcement officer pushed the teenager. He fell, smashed his head against the glass, and sustained a fatal cut to his neck. The minor died at the scene, the SBI said.
On April 8, a law enforcement officer was notified of suspicion of premeditated murder after he pushed a teenager who fell and died at a funicular station in Kyiv.
According to the Zmina Football School, the deceased was their 16-year-old student.
The State Bureau of Investigation reportedthat a law enforcement officer suspected of killing a teenager at a funicular station in Kyiv pleaded not guilty. There are seven witnesses who are testifying in the case. The SBI also confirmed that the man was drunk.
