During the spring sowing season, Ukrainian farmers planted 2.4 million hectares of spring crops, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported on Friday, UNN reports.

"On the territory controlled by Ukraine, 2 million 546 thousand hectares of grain and legumes have already been sown," the statement said.
Among them, as indicated:
- corn - 1,189 thousand hectares;
- barley - 761.5 thou hectares;
- wheat - 223.3 thousand hectares;
- peas - 159.2 thousand hectares;
- oats - 146.6 thousand hectares.
Over the past week, farmers sowed 492.9 thousand hectares of grain and legumes.
In addition, a total of 1,996.9 thousand hectares of sunflower, 208.6 thousand hectares of soybeans, and 238.7 thousand hectares of sugar beet have been planted. Agrarians in Vinnytsia, Poltava, Khmelnytsky, Bukovyna and Chernihiv regions have completed sowing sugar beet.
