Kyiv • UNN
The airfield in occupied Dzhankoy, which was attacked today, is a legitimate military facility that houses Russian army aviation units and serves as a military hub.
The airfield in occupied Dzhankoy, which was attacked today, is a legitimate target of Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Gumenyuk on Radio Liberty, UNN reports.
"In general, it is clear that this is a military airfield, i.e. a legitimate target. It was a suitable facility for army aviation, among other things. In addition, we know that during their occupation of the Crimean peninsula, using it as a powerful military hub, the Russians very often changed the location of various units and moved them to move them away from possible damage. But not all maneuvers were successful," said Humeniuk.
She did not say what exactly they managed to hit at the airfield and added that it was necessary to wait for official information from the General Staff.
