A Serious and Significant Target for the Defense Forces: the DIU Commented on Russia's Construction of a Railway to Crimea
Kyiv • UNN
The Russian occupiers are building a railroad from Russia through the occupied territories in southern Ukraine to Crimea, which is a serious target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as it is intended to strengthen the logistics of supplying Russian troops.
The railroad being built by the enemy in the temporarily occupied territory in southern Ukraine to Crimea is a serious and significant target for the Defense Forces. Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, said this during a telethon, UNN reports.
"This is a serious challenge, a serious threat. Accordingly, this is a serious and significant target for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. There are plans. Plans do not always correspond to reality. In the Russian case, it is certainly the same. In general, the Russian army continues to use the railroad as the main element of logistics for supplying its forces and the occupation corps. They are not satisfied with what is happening with the so-called Crimean bridge, it is not fully operational today. And even if it were fully operational, it could not meet the needs of the group. That is why they are trying to strengthen the railway connection," Yusov commented on the construction of a railway connection through the occupied south of Ukraine to Crimea.
He noted that these plans are being opposed.
"This is a task and a question of what if or when it fails to meet the deadline. If it does succeed (in completion - ed.), how long and how efficiently it will be able to operate," Yusov added.
